COFRA was established in 1938 by Ruggiero Cortellino under the name "Cortelgomma". After just a few short years, the founder's entrepreneurial spirit and passion for producing quality products propelled this small business into a flourishing company. Producing hundreds of pairs of shoes and boots per day, Cortelgomma began distributing all over Italy. After changing its name in 1983, COFRA has continued to expand its footprint and establish itself as a leader in the safety footwear industry. Now managed by Giuseppe Cortellino, the founder's son, COFRA is focused on providing premium products to professionals in a wide variety of industries.
Innovation, quality, and value are at the core of the business at COFRA. The company's THERMIC INSOLE is designed to provide heat insulation, keeping the wearer's feet comfortable and safe while working on hot asphalt surfaces. The polyurethane construction of the insole ensures maximum comfort and durability in the harshest conditions all season long.
COFRA's specially formulated, injection molded, smooth, nitrile rubber outsole, known as the HEAT Defender PU Outsole, eliminates marks on fresh asphalt while protecting the wearer's feet from high temperatures throughout the workday. This outsole offers heat resistance for 8 hours at 212 Degrees Fahrenheit, 30 minutes at 302 Degrees Fahrenheit, and extreme heat protection for 1 minute at 572 Degrees Fahrenheit.
The COFRA New Asphalt Work Boots are designed to withstand the harshest road work conditions. The 6-inch work boot features a water-repellent printed leather upper for protection against the elements, a breathable leather upper for comfort on hot asphalt, and an injection-molded outsole that will never separate from the upper. Sturdy metal eyelets provide secure lacing, and the boots are available in sizes 6-14 wide.
COFRA's Heat Shield Work Boots are designed to withstand the harshest, hottest road work conditions. The boots feature fireproof seams with para-aramid yarn and DuPont Kevlar, excellent traction on most surfaces, an adjustable lace protection with Velcro closure, and flame and heat resistance up to 797 Fahrenheit. These boots are available in sizes 6-14 wide.
The COFRA US Road Work Boots, designed for the harshest road work conditions, feature an 8-inch water-repellent printed leather upper for protection against the elements, a breathable leather upper for comfort on hot asphalt, an injection-molded outsole that will never separate from the upper, and sturdy metal eyelets for secure lacing. These boots are available in sizes 6-14 wide.
Across COFRA's asphalt-ready footwear line, the products offer a breathable, weatherproof upper, protection against freshly laid asphalt and extreme heat, a heat-resistant rubber sole, and features designed for ultimate jobsite safety, including a crush-resistant composite toe cap, puncture-resistant sole plate, and superior slip resistance.
